Service Projects (pictures)
Light & Life Urban Ministries regularly hosts groups desiring to experience urban ministry through service projects. The goal of these opportunities is to create an understanding of, passion for, and support of urban ministries. These projects are designed in relation to the size and abilities of the group, and current ministry needs. Individuals are also encouraged to inquire about projects they can join in on. Program Mentors (pictures)
The heart of Light & Life Urban Ministries is realized through those Christians who invest their time in loving relationships through the context of existing programs. It is this investment which ultimately leads to opportunities for new life to be realized. Program Mentors are connected according to desire, ability, and program needs. Click here for Application.
Americorp (pictures)
Light & Life Urban Ministries is qualified, and regularly receives Americorp volunteers. Americorp offers a monthly stipend and an education grant at completion of the program. Our utilization of Americorp volunteers is based upon current need and funding. Click here for more information.
Urban Internship (pictures)
The unique skill-set required to minister in an urban environment can only be fully understood and developed in the context of an urban setting. Light & Life Urban Ministries offers the opportunity for this experiential learning by providing on-site housing, training and experience. These internships run for a one year period and are structured according to gifts of the individuals, and the current needs of the ministry. Intervarsity Summer Internship (pictures)
In partnership with Fresno Institute for Urban Leadership, Light & Life Urban Ministries regularly receives Intervarsity Summer Interns. Intervarsity Christian Fellowship has clubs at numerous major universities providing opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, and service. Click here for more information.
Program Staff (pictures)
The call to urban ministry is a call to a very specialized mission field. At times, God calls individuals whose gifts, education and life experience qualify them to serve in this unique context. It is a challenging walk of faith and fulfillment. Light & Life Urban Ministries is open to explore and discuss this walk with any individual sensing this call.
